Andorra La Vella is the capital of Andorra, located in the east Pyrenees and sandwiched between France and Spain. The primary source of income of the people here is tourism. Furniture and brandies are also produced at the local level.

Old stone streets and houses characterize the city's old town. The Church of Saint Stephen, built in the Romanesque style during the eleventh century, is located in a picturesque part of the city. The oldest building in the city was built in the ninth century and is called Santa Coloma.

This Andorran city has produced noted ski mountaineers, Joan Diaz and Sophie Bertrand. Caldea, a health spa, is the largest one in Europe, covering six thousand square meters. The features include inside and outside lagoon, saunas, Jacuzzis, a grapefruit pool, an Aztecian pool, Indo-Roman baths, cascades, bubble baths, and warm marble slates.

Casa De La Vall, a plain building of undressed stone built in 1580, is located in the centre of the city. Though the building belonged to the noble Andorran family, later on it was taken over by the Government. The arms of principality embellish the entrance of the building.

The sixteenth century wall paintings in the reception room are a huge sensation because of the elegance in which the contemporary traditions have been depicted. In the council chamber is the 'cupboard of the seven keys', to which each of the seven communes has a key.

The archives of principality and the documents dating back to the times of Charlemagne are contained in it. The domestic life is well expressed in the large kitchen with utensils from the ancient times. Arinsal and Pal ski areas provide skiing opportunities to the travelers with an adventurous bent of mind. The Place Del Pole is mind rejuvenating with an extraordinary surrounding view.
